We also appreciated your very precise estimates, and the fact that you only proceeded on new items not anticipated in the original quote once you had explained it and had cleared it with us in writing.

Hi Gary,

I have spoken to the real estate agency who are handling my auction. Many people have asked the agency who the builder of my home was and I gave your name and phone number with much pride. It is a shame I don’t still have your name on a signboard on the property. There have been many people past the property, they are still coming this afternoon. Quite a number have come to the open house inspections and have praised this lovely house.

I do not let on that Gary Snelgrove saved me from some foolish mistakes in design, during construction. I do tell the agent that she can be very confident passing on your name to those who are interested in buying a house and renovating it. Not only in your excellent workmanship but the ideas you have in design. She has taken note of that advice. She is as enthusiastic about the house, as her clients are. I think she would like to buy it but she is not ready yet.

When organising the building inspection, Victoria Aitkinson (the agent) was keen to hear the response from the inspector. He does some renovations and he was very impressed with what you had done. One of the prospective buyers was with him on the day and he was explaining in detail what you had done and how good it is.

It seems a shame I do not have another house to work on with you, Gary. I let people know you worked on the two in Bowering Street too and how good your workmanship is.

It is the end of my building days and hopefully I will be able to retire to an apartment at South Bank and not pick up a paint brush or a mattock. I will probably still visit the Reserve where I have worked now for six years. I have a good group to work with and I hope they continue on with improving the Reserve. It has come a long way!

I have spoken to the couple who wanted to raise a house but they are not going ahead with their plans as the house is in a demolition zone (whatever that means). Nevertheless they are aware of your work and will contact you if they undertake another investment house improvement.

We have always found Gary to be very professional, conscientious and friendly in his approach.  Planning each project with us has been enjoyable and hassle-free, made the more so by Gary’s wealth of experience and willingness to listen, understand and achieve our aims.

The quality of his work is exceptional and is enhanced by the calibre of the sub-contractors he engaged.  Gary’s co-ordination of the various trades involved was outstanding, as each project continued seamlessly, with no inordinate delays.

The projects which Gary has carried out for us range from erecting a pergola and gazebo to house renovations and extensions – all undertaken while we continued to live on the premises without major disruption to personal life.

Regardless of the weather, Gary and his team arrived at 7am sharp and worked solidly throughout the day at which point they left the work area safe and tidy.

During the project Gary made suggestions which have certainly improved the final outcome. He also tactfully redirected us when we suggested works that would not be in keeping or add any value.

We could not be happier with the final result – the quality of the materials and workmanship have drawn many comments from admiring neighbors. We would recommend Gary and his team without reservation.

In May 2005 Gary Snelgrove of Snelgrove Builders completed a large job for us at our home.

One of the many things that impressed us with Snelgrove Builders was that Gary and the team were on site every day for the duration of the job. This is fantastic these days with many other contractors trying to manage several jobs at one time and only turning up when it is convenient for them. Of course this is highly undesirable for most people who want their jobs finished quickly and their normality and home back to normal in the minimum time. This is a testament to how Gary runs his business with the personal touch and commitment to each individual job.
